The Chukh bagh “naadam” festival, held annually, is a large-scale festival that involves several soums of Dornod province. It was celebrated on the 21st of July, 2019 on a hillock north of the lake. At this year’s festival, our community joined with local people and provided them information about our research findings, flora, fauna and geographical features of the Mongol Daguur region. Also, in order to foster ecological awareness, we set up coloring and illustration stations for children to learn the features of rare birds in the lake. About 500 children and their parents attended our activities during the festival.
We would like to thank colleagues of Eastern Mongolian Protected Area Administraion, Governors’ office of Dashbalbar soum, and the children and their parents who actively participated in our activities for co-organizing this event!
