Read More...World Environment Day is the United Nations day for encouraging worldwide awareness and action to protect our environment. Since it began in 1974, the event has grown to become a global platform for public outreach that is widely celebrated in over 100 countries. Each countries celebrate this day in its own way. In 2019, we celebrated the World Environment Day on the 5th of June. On this day, we set up workshops and presentations to provide knowledge and information about the area of Mongol Daguur, World Heritage, as well as bird species in Chukh lake to the local people.

Read More...The International Day for Biological Diversity (or World Biodiversity Day) is an officially sanctioned international day for the promotion of biodiversity issues. It is has been held annually on May 22 since the year 2001. World Biodiversity Day is celebrated annually by the Eastern Mongolian Protected Areas Administration, and our organization joined in this year’s event to co-ordinate environmental, educational and fun informative activities for children in the soum at Chukh resort.
Read More...The Chukh bagh “naadam” festival, held annually, is a large-scale festival that involves several soums of Dornod province. It was celebrated on the 21st of July, 2019 on a hillock north of the lake. At this year’s festival, our community joined with local people and provided them information about our research findings, flora, fauna and geographical features of the Mongol Daguur region. Also, in order to foster ecological awareness, we set up coloring and illustration stations for children to learn the features of rare birds in the lake. About 500 children and their parents attended our activities during the festival. We would like to thank colleagues of Eastern Mongolian Protected Area Administraion, Governors’ office of Dashbalbar soum, and the children and their parents who actively participated in our activities for co-organizing this event!
Read More...During the spring of 2019 and by order of the Governor’s office of Dashbalbar soum, we built a 6 meter-long and 2 meter-wide observation station on the northwestern shore of the lake for local people and tourists who want to take bird photographs. The purpose of the observation station is to prevent photographers from disturbing the birds walking along the lake, and to reduce anthropogenic impact to the birds. We would like to thank Mr. Oyunbaatar, who responded to our request and built the observation station.
